For all students, good health is essential to achieving educational goals. To support the academic success of our students, ´ó²¤Âܸ£Àûµ¼ requires all students to maintain health insurance. 

Health Insurance Requirements

Eligibility: Students enrolled in the University Student Health Insurance plan must actively attend classes for at least the first 31 days after the date of which coverage is purchased.

It is mandatory for all undergraduate students to maintain health insurance that provides comprehensive coverage within the greater New Orleans area. This coverage must include essential services such as primary care visits, laboratory tests, imaging (X-rays), pharmacy benefits, emergency department visits, and urgent care.  Additionally, students in the Physician Assistant, Genetic Counseling, and XCOMM programs require their students to be automatically enrolled in the school-sponsored student insurance and they are required to complete a waiver on-line during the waiver period if they can provide proof of insurance.

Graduate students are eligible to enroll in this insurance plan - please Create an Account and complete the Graduate Student Direct Pay Enroll application at 

Dependents: Eligible students who do enroll may also insure their Dependents. Eligible Dependents are the student's spouse, dependent children or grandchild (who is in the legal custody of and residing with the eligible student)

Study Abroad students: If you are insured with the student health insurance plan you are eligible for UnitedHealthcare Global Emergency Services. (Refer to your certificate of coverage) It is our recommendation that students studying abroad purchase international health/travel insurance.
